Sport has always been a huge part of my life and my school years (long gone now…) were spent swimming for school and clubs. For many years I competed in regional tetrathlon (running, horse riding , shooting and swimming) competitions. In 2005 I completed my first Olympic triathlon and since then I’ve competed in various triathlons around the country.
I am passionate about health and fitness and and passionate about the importance of swimming in a child’s physical development. Whether we go on to swim for clubs, play water polo, or simply feel confident swimming on our own on holiday, above all else swimming should be fun and something that stays with us for the rest of our lives.
Rachael’s approach to swimming teaching
I set high standards but I recognise that abilities differ, even within a small group, so as much as possible I try and give individual feedback for swimmers to work on. Most importantly, I aim to create a fun and positive environment in which to motivate, bring confidence and get the best out of each and every swimmer, whatever their ability.
I’m really looking forward to meeting all the swimmers at Swimcentral.
